A climbing aroid with narrow, pointed leaves marbled cream and green. 'Variegata' is the speckled form: every leaf has its own pattern, from mostly green to mostly cream.
Water when the top few centimetres of soil are dry. Give it bright, indirect light. The cream parts need it, and in a dim spot new leaves come in greener. Keep it above 16 °C and away from cold draughts.
It grows at a steady pace. With a moss pole it climbs, and the leaves get bigger as it goes. Without one it trails over the edge of the pot. Over the years it can reach more than 120 cm. Cuttings with a node root easily in water.
Native to the humid forests of Southeast Asia, from Assam to Sumatra and Borneo. Toxic to cats and dogs if eaten. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
