A Chinese money plant with round leaves marbled in lime green and dark green. The pattern is different on every leaf: some are mostly lime, some have a few splashes, and now and then one comes in plain green. The leaves sit on long, thin stalks that all grow from one central stem.
Water when the top few centimetres of soil are dry. If you forget, the leaves droop, and they stand up again within a day of watering. Give it bright, indirect light: in a dim spot the new leaves come in greener. Turn the pot now and then, because it leans towards the window. Keep it above 12 °C.
Grows at a steady pace into a round plant about 30 cm tall and wide, a little slower than the plain green form. Healthy plants send up small pups from the soil around the stem. Cut them off with a bit of root and pot them up to keep or give away.
Native to the mountains of southwest China. Non-toxic to cats and dogs. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
