Known as the king anthurium. The leaves are glossy with deep ribs, and each new leaf is longer than the last. On older plants they hang down and get long and narrow.
In nature it grows on trees, so use an airy, chunky mix instead of normal potting soil. Water when the top few centimetres are dry and don't let it sit in water. Bright, indirect light. It likes humidity and warmth: keep it above 16 °C and away from draughts and radiators.
Slow grower, a few new leaves a year. With time and good humidity, the leaves can grow past 50 cm.
Native to the cloud forests of Colombia. Toxic to cats and dogs if eaten. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
