A Philodendron with long, narrow, pointed leaves splashed and speckled with cream and yellow. New leaves often come out pink, orange or red and turn green and cream as they harden. The colours change with the season and the temperature, so no two leaves look the same. Young plants have smooth leaf edges. Older leaves grow longer and get a jagged, toothed edge.
Water when the top few centimetres of soil are dry, about once a week in summer and less in winter. Give it bright, indirect light: the cream and pink need light to show. In a dim spot, new leaves come out greener. Keep it above 15 °C and away from cold draughts.
It grows slowly, with a few new leaves a year. Young plants stand upright on a short stem. Older plants start to climb and do best with a moss pole, where the leaves get bigger, up to about 30 cm long. Over several years it can reach about 1 m.
A hybrid bred in cultivation from Philodendron species native to the rainforests of Central and South America. Toxic to cats and dogs if eaten. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
