A trailing Peperomia with small, round, thick leaves about 1 cm across. Each leaf is dark green with a pattern of pale, silvery lines. The stems are thin and reddish.
Water when the top of the soil has dried out. The thick leaves store some water, but they shrivel if the soil stays dry for too long. Too much water rots the stems, so don't leave water in the saucer. Bright, indirect light keeps the pattern clear. It copes with a dimmer spot, but the stems get longer between the leaves and the pattern fades. Keep it above 16 °C and out of cold draughts. It does well in a humid room such as a bathroom.
Grows slowly. The stems creep over the soil, then hang over the edge of the pot and reach about 30 cm. It suits a shelf, a small hanging pot or a terrarium. Cuttings root easily in damp soil.
Native to the rainforests of Ecuador. Non-toxic to cats and dogs. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
