A Peperomia with small, round, thick leaves in groups of three or four along the stems. The leaves are mid green with faint lighter lines. 'Hope' is a cross between two Peperomia species.
The thick leaves store water, so it handles a missed watering well. Let the soil dry out before watering, and water less in winter. Bright, indirect light is best. It also copes with a dimmer spot, where it grows more slowly. Keep it above 15 °C.
Grows at a steady pace. The stems start upright, then spread and trail over the edge of the pot, reaching about 30 to 40 cm. It suits a shelf or a small hanging pot. Pinch the tips if you want it bushier.
Its parent species grow wild in the tropical forests of Central and South America. Non-toxic to cats and dogs. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
