A Ctenanthe with long, pointed leaves splashed with bright yellow and dark green. On 'Golden Mosaic' the yellow often covers half the leaf or more, and no two leaves have the same pattern.
Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry, and don't let it sit in water. Bright, indirect light keeps the yellow strongest, but it copes with a dimmer spot. Keep it above 16 °C and away from cold draughts. It handles dry room air better than a Calathea.
It grows at a steady pace into an upright clump of leaves on long stems, about 60 to 80 cm tall when mature. New leaves come up rolled and open over a few days.
The species is native to the rainforests of Brazil. It is non-toxic to cats and dogs. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
