A velvet anthurium with large, heart-shaped leaves. The leaves are green and matt, with pale silver-green veins. The leaf stems have four edges, which is how you tell it apart from similar species.
Use an airy, chunky mix that drains quickly. Water when the top few centimetres are dry and don't let it sit in water. Bright, indirect light, out of direct sun. It copes with normal room humidity better than most velvet anthuriums, but higher humidity keeps the leaf edges clean. Keep it above 16 °C and away from draughts and radiators.
Grows at a steady pace on a short upright stem. Each new leaf is bigger than the last, and on older plants the leaves can grow past 50 cm. New leaves come out lighter and darken over a few weeks.
Native to the mountain forests of Colombia. Toxic to cats and dogs if eaten. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
