A Homalomena with long, pointed leaves marked with lime-green patches on dark green. On 'Camouflage' the pattern covers most of each leaf, and the leaf stems are pinkish red.
Water when the top few centimetres of soil feel dry. Don't let it dry out completely or sit in water. Bright, indirect light keeps the pattern clear, but it copes with a dimmer spot. Keep it above 16 °C and away from cold draughts.
It grows at a steady pace into a low, dense clump of leaves, about 30 to 40 cm tall and wide when mature. New leaves come up from the centre of the plant.
The species is native to the rainforests of Colombia and Venezuela. It is toxic to cats and dogs if eaten. Ships in a 6 cm pot.
